About Joanne MacInnes

Much of Joanne’s 42 -year nursing career has been spent in hospice and end of life care. After years in acute care, she began at Hospice of the North Shore (Care Dimensions) as the overnight On Call Nurse (hardest job ever) and later as Clinical Director. At VNA Care Network, she managed the two residential Hospices, Chilton House in Cambridge and Tippett Home in Needham. Aberdeen Home Care was founded in 2000.

Joanne served on the HCA board for many years, and led the HCA Private Duty Forum in 2020 during COVID. She hosted “Caring Voice” a weekend radio program for 5-years, and writes a weekly column on health and wellness for a North Shore publication. Aberdeen Home Care was founded in 2000 and has enjoyed the status of being a Premier Private Duty Agency on the North Shore. Aberdeen was chosen as “Best Places to Work” by the Boston Globe in 2018.  Joanne loves the beach in all seasons, and lives happily in Gloucester with her wife Maureen, 3 year-old grandson and two pups.
