Joe Osentoski, BAS, RN, GERO-BC, is a home health compliance and appeals expert for Gateway Home Health Coding and Consulting. With over 30 years of experience in home health and hospice, Joe specializes in clinical quality assurance and regulatory compliance including Additional Development Request (ADR) responses and appeals. He has extensive experience with audits, probes, and reviews from all Medicare contractors and insurance payers. Joe has completed well over 5,000 ADRs in home health and hospice, filed thousands of appeals, and represented clients at hundreds of administrative law judge hearings. He is the author of “The ADR and Appeals Handbook, First Edition,” from Decision Health, a contributor to Home Health Line, and is a board certified gerontological nurse for 28 years.
