About Rachel Mandle
Rachel Mandle is the Executive Director and CEO of The Residences at Sherburne Commons, an Independent Living Community on Nantucket, a role she has held since 2022. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Rachel earned her degree in Human Development and Family Studies in 2004 before returning to Nantucket to begin a nearly two‑decade career in senior services for the Town of Nantucket. From 2004 to mid‑2022, she served in a range of leadership positions, including Administrator of Our Island Home nursing home, Director of Human Services—overseeing the Senior Center, Council on Aging, community grants, and partnerships with local nonprofits—and ultimately Assistant Town Manager. Rachel has served or worked with various boards and committees through the years and currently serves on the Boards of Trustees for the Community Foundation for Nantucket, the Nantucket Center for Elder Affairs, and Small Friends of Nantucket. She lives year‑round on Nantucket with her husband, Stefan, and their three girls ages 13, 2 and 4.
